Dear friends, family, and community,

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: this October 2025, I’ll be traveling to rural Nepal for 9 weeks to volunteer as an acupuncturist with the Acupuncture Relief Project (ARP) — a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing accessible, high-quality healthcare to rural and underserved communities.
 

Why Nepal?

In many of Nepal’s villages, access to basic medical care is limited or nonexistent. People live with chronic pain, untreated injuries, respiratory conditions, digestive issues, and the emotional toll of poverty and past trauma—all without the resources to get help.

That’s where Acupuncture Relief Project comes in. They offer compassionate, patient-focused care through acupuncture, herbal medicine, manual therapies, and health education.
 

Over the past decade, ARP has provided more than 500,000 free patient visits. Their mission speaks to me deeply—because I believe that genuine care and human connection can transform lives and help people move toward better health and brighter futures.
 

My Role

For 9 weeks, I’ll be living and working in rural Nepal, volunteering alongside an incredible team of practitioners in community clinics—treating dozens to hundreds of patients each week. Beyond acupuncture treatments, we’ll also help with diagnosis, health education, and building meaningful relationships within the community.
 

This opportunity is completely self-funded, and my costs—including program fees, flights, lodging, and supplies—will total approximately $8,000.
